Our Emmy award winners

WRAL won eight awards this past Saturday at the MidSouth Regional Emmy Awards ceremony in Nashville, Tenn.

Many of my co-workers planned to attend the event and had even bought tuxedos and dresses for the glitzy gala. One problem stopped them from going: the snow! Flights were canceled and our newsroom ramped up coverage, bringing extra staff in to work the weekend.

Two lucky staff members were able to attend the Emmys - anchor/reporter Cullen Browder and producer Martha Woodward. Cullen's wife, Ela, was nice enough to share some pictures from the special night.
