Is that Richard Gere?

“Whoa! Is that Richard Gere?”

That was my first thought after I opened a picture that was sent to us from the City of Raleigh parking administrator today.

I posted a story on our Web site earlier today about Raleigh installing 173 new parking pay stations. The city official sent us some pictures so we could see what the pay stations will look like.

I opened the first photo and BAM, there was the “Pretty Woman” actor, or so I thought.

A second later, one of my co-workers, who also opened the picture, said: “Is that Richard Gere?”

I doubt Richard Gere is posing for pay station photos, but we got a good chuckle out of the photo anyway. Thought I’d share it with you :)

I e-mailed the Raleigh parking administrator and asked him who the guy in the picture is. I told him it looks like Richard Gere. Here is his funny response:

"Ha! That has been the comment of many people who have seen this photo. I wish I could say it was me! The photo is actually one taken for advertising purposes by Duncan Solutions and they always refer to it as 'the Richard Gere photo' but alas it is just some lucky model."
