RALEIGH, N.C. — WRAL Explorer Post 5 members attended the annual Eagle Scout banquet for the Occonechee Council Saturday night, which recognizes Boy Scouts who have received their Eagle badge.

One hundred Eagle Scouts attended the banquet to receive their badge -  the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America.

Cumberland, Lee, Harnett, Moore, Durham, Wake, Granville, Orange, Franklin, Vance, Chatham and Warren counties make up the Occonechee Council. There are 490 total Eagle Scouts in the Occonechee Council.

WRAL Explorer Post 5 is made up of 52 members. On Saturday, 21 of the members attended the event and interviewed several Eagle Scouts from across central North Carolina. The team will use the interviews to create a marketing video.
