WRAL, partners raise $78,000 to fight hunger
WRAL-TV and Radio One Raleigh raised more than $78,000 for the HungerFreeNC Coalition, a group of organizations applying creative solutions to fight the root causes of hunger in our state.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — The second annual HungerFreeNC mediathon was a big success.
WRAL-TV and Radio One Raleigh raised more than $78,000 for the HungerFreeNC Coalition, a group of organizations applying creative solutions to fight the root causes of hunger in our state.
With one in five adults, one in four children, and 20 percent of North Carolina seniors at risk for hunger, the problem is widespread, but the money raised will go a long way toward funding forward-thinking, grassroots organizations and their long term solutions for a hunger-free NC.
Although the media push ended Thursday, donations to the cause are still being accepted online at hungerfreenc.org.
