<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — WRAL's 28th annual Coats for the Children campaign kicked off on Saturday. Participate by donating new or gently used coats and toys at participating Jiffy Lube locations throughout the viewing area through December 31.

Donations can be made by going to searching keyword “Coats” on WRAL.com or texting “Coats” to 41444.

Over the years, the campaign has collect 158,000 coats for the Salvation Army and raised more than $1.6 million to help local families during the holidays.

WRAL hosts the annual annual Coats for the Children telethon on December 9 from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Salvation Army.
