'World's worst cat' seeks home in brutally honest ad

A North Carolina shelter says Perdita enjoys "lurking in dark corners, jump scares, being queen and fooling shelter staff into thinking she's sick."

SPRUCE PINE, N.C. — The 'World's Worst Cat' is waiting for a fearless forever family in a North Carolina animal shelter.
Mitchell County Animal Rescue said it thought Perdita "was just sick, turns out she's a jerk."

Could Perdita be the next Grumpy Cat meme? With a distinctively cantankerous facial expression, she looks like she could give Grumpy Cat a run for his money.

The shelter said Perdita's likes include "staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again."

Potential adopters who love the movie Pet Sematary might enjoy spending time with Perdita, who the shelter said loves the Steven King thriller and admires Church, the creepy kitty in the starring role.

However, the shelter said Perdita doesn't enjoy the color pink, dogs, children and Disney movies.

Perdita's surly gaze and brutally honest ad is catching attention on social media, with over 1,300 shares and hundreds of comments.

The shelter said Perdita is socially awkward and would do well with a "socially awkward human who understands she needs personal space."

The adoption is free.
