RALEIGH, N.C. — International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA)’s World of Bluegrass organizers have postponed ticket sales for the annual festival planned this fall in downtown Raleigh.

Tickets for the IBMA Business Conference, Bluegrass Ramble, IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards and limited reserved seating for Red Hat Amphitheater performances during IBMA Bluegrass Live! won't go on sale until early summer. Tickets were set to go on sale April 7 for IBMA and PineCone members and on April 21 for the general public.

The event is still scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 3 at various locations in downtown Raleigh.

"While so many of us eagerly look forward to sitting at our computers in early April to register and buy tickets for IBMA World of Bluegrass, it is prudent to hit the pause button given the conditions we presently face,” IBMA executive director Paul Schiminger said. “We are fortunate to have several months until we see everyone in Raleigh, so we are currently anticipating an on-sale date in early-to-mid-June. We know our bluegrass music community needs our important annual gathering more than ever, so we are working hard to make that happen!"

IBMA Bluegrass Live! will be held Oct. 2-3 with concerts at Red Hat Amphitheater and on seven more stages throughout downtown. It will include free admission to shows at Red Hat Amphitheatre, a tradition that started last year.

Additional details about the festival, including acts, have not been released.
