CLAYTON, N.C. — Officials said a woman has been killed by a machine at a bread manufacturer in Clayton.

22-year-old Bibiana Delabra was crushed to death while working on a large industrial machine at Northeast Foods.

Northeast Foods is a supplier of buns and bread products to fast-food restaurants.

The incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. after which all employees were sent home.

Donna Eason, the HR manager for the company told WRAL News they are a close knit family and everyone knew the 22 year old.

“It’s just a freak accident there’s nothing else we can say about it and our hearts are just broke they’re really broke,” said Eason.

Eason said she was like a daughter.

“She was such a sweet little girl," said Eason. "Just so pleasant and so sweet and had a warm smile.”

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified of the incident.

It’s unclear at this time what went wrong, but police say it was unintentional.

Eason says this is a loss many are struggling with both inside and outside the company.

"Just know this is a company owned business, our employees are our first priority," said Eason. "We’re going to do what’s necessary for the family and for the community as well.”

Eason said they will most likely be closed until OSHA investigates.
