Woofstock to raise money for animal shelters
The Gimmie Shelter Foundation is hosting its first Woofstock fundraiser on Sunday at Southland Ballroom to help raise money for local animal shelters.

The Gimmie Shelter Foundation is hosting its first Woofstock fundraiser on Sunday at Southland Ballroom to help raise money for local animal shelters.
Tickets are $15 at the door and in advance online. They will also be accepting additional donations of cash, checks, dog or cat food, treats, toys, beds, leashes and other pet supplies at the show.
Here's the lineup:
- Beautiful Dangerous (top 40 rock) 1 p.m.
- Kitty Box and the Johnny's (rockabilly) 2:10 p.m.
- 5 Speed (southern rock) 3:20 p.m.
- Monika Jaymes Band (roots rock) 4:30 p.m.
- Plutopia (reggae) 5:40 p.m.
- Brother Esau (Grateful Dead tribute) 6:50 p.m.
- CC Ryder's (country) 8 p.m.
- Hipslack (party rock & hip hop) 9:10 p.m.
The Gimmie Shelter Foundation is a nonprofit that supports rescue animals and those at shelters in the state. Their goals are to help make North Carolina a "No Kill" state long-term, build quarantine buildings for various animal shelters, provide emergency support to shelters, rescues and stray funds and help place animals in loving homes.
They plan to host another Woofstock event this year.
