Women's argument ends in murder charge

Cumberland County authorities arrested a Raleigh woman Saturday for allegedly running over a friend with her car after the two argued.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities arrested a Raleigh woman Saturday for allegedly running over a friend with her car after the two argued.

Sheriff’s detectives charged Dianna Dandrea Richardson, 49, of 4526 North New Hope Road, with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Witnesses said Richardson and Linda Lea Glen, 62, of 6318 Greywood Drive in Raleigh, argued while visiting a home on Gilcrest Sands Drive in Hope Mills.

Witnesses said Glen grabbed hold of Richardson car door as Richardson was driving. Richardson dragged Glen until she fell, backed up to run over Glen’s legs, then drove forward over her again, witnesses told deputies.

They said the women had known each other for 15 years.

Glen was taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Richardson was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
