Raleigh man charged with DWI, hit-and-run from crash with motorcycle

A woman was seriously hurt from a crash that involved an overturned vehicle and a motorcycle in Raleigh overnight.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman was seriously hurt from a crash that involved an overturned vehicle and a motorcycle in Raleigh overnight. A man has now been charged in the crash.

Police responded to the crash around 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Buffaloe Road. The woman, a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Victor Ogembo was arrested in connection with the crash. Ogembo, 39, was charged with driving while impaired, felony serious injury by vehicle and felony hit-and-run.

Police said Ogembo, the driver of the vehicle, left the scene. Ogembo's bond is $25,000.

Part of Capital Boulevard was closed while police investigated. The details surrounding how the crash occurred are not known.
