Woman stabbed, hit by car in Raleigh

A Wendell woman who had just been stabbed was hit by a car in southeast Raleigh on Monday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wendell woman who had just been stabbed was hit by a car in southeast Raleigh on Monday afternoon.

Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said a preliminary investigation showed that Sherie Brooks, 31, had been stabbed during a domestic dispute.

After being stabbed, Brooks ran into oncoming traffic along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 2 p.m., according to the wreck report. She was struck by a vehicle driven by Shirley Debnam Broadie, 64, of Raleigh.

Sughrue said Brooks’ injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
