Police said Friday that they were searching for a woman suspected of fatally shooting a Durham man Thursday night.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Police said Friday that they were searching for a woman suspected of fatally shooting a Durham man Thursday night.

Jerry Wayne Morgan, 54, of Sidneys Way, died at Durham Regional Hospital a few hours after being shot on Cheek Road, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Morgan had been working on a vehicle in the 2700 block of Cheek Road  when a woman approached him, exchanged words with him and then shot him. The woman then fled in a burgundy Oldsmobile Bravada, police said.
