Two arrested after shooting outside Raleigh nightclub that killed woman

Police responded to a shooting outside the Paris Lounge nightclub, at 5500 Atlantic Springs Road, shortly before 1 a.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman died Friday after an overnight shooting off Atlantic Springs Road in Raleigh.

Police responded to a shooting outside the Paris Lounge nightclub, at 5500 Atlantic Springs Road, shortly before 1 a.m. According to its website, the club is open until 2 a.m.

Investigators said several shots were fired. Maya Elaine Rogers, 25, was taken to WakeMed, where she died.

Police officers told WRAL News it was a chaotic scene as cars tried to flee the shooting but crashed into each other in the parking lot.

Christoper Gregg, 20, was charged with murder and Daron Pouncy, 22, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection to the shooting.

Both men remained at Wake County Detention Center.
