A woman shot a man early Wednesday morning, Durham police said.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — A man was shot in Durham early Wednesday, police said.

Durham police said a woman shot the man, whom she knew, around 12:15 a.m. on Bonsell Place, off of Fayetteville Street.

The man was taken to Duke Hospital, where he needed surgery.

The woman, who called police after the shooting, was taken into custody.
