Woman sent to hospital after being found in vehicle with gunshot wounds

Rocky Mount, N.C. — Rocky Mount police are investigating after they responded to a shooting with injury call and found a woman in a vehicle with gunshot wounds.
Police responded to an area near North Wesleyan Boulevard and Jeffreys Road on Tuesday at 3:13 p.m. They found Kesha Santiago, 42, inside a vehicle with the gunshot wounds. Nash County EMS assisted and transported her to Nash Health Care.
Witnesses told WRAL's Rosalia Fodera the shooting happened at another location and the victim drove to the spot where police found her.
Santiago had non-life threatening injuries and was in stable condition Thursday night, according to police.
