Woman robs jewelry store in Mebane outlet mall

A woman tied up the employees of a jewelry store in Mebane on Monday morning before stealing an undisclosed amount of merchandise, police said.

MEBANE, N.C. — A woman tied up the employees of a jewelry store in Mebane on Monday morning before stealing an undisclosed amount of merchandise, police said.

The woman browsed around the Jared Vault store, at 4000 Arrowhead Blvd. in the Tanger Outlets shopping center, for a short while before pulling out a gun and ordering employees into a back room, police said. She used zip-ties to restrain them before robbing the store and leaving.

No one was injured during the robbery, which was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Police said they believe the same woman was involved in similar robberies in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The FBI is assisting Mebane police in the investigation.
