RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman arrested at WakeMed last month after she was reported missing from San Antonio, Texas, is facing additional charges.

Michele Roode Boyd, 41, was arrested on March 19 at WakeMed, where she was being treated after suffering a seizure, on a charge out of Bexar County, Texas, of abandonment of a child.

Boyd is now also charged with obtaining property by false pretense.

According to court papers, she used the name "Jessie Brown" while she was at the hospital and received more than $136,000 worth of treatment.

Boyd's mother, Sue Roode, said she believes her daughter suffers from mental illness.

In Texas, Boyd was a nurse at Christus Health Systems.
