RALEIGH, N.C. — A Creedmoor woman died Friday from injuries she suffered in a three-vehicle crash in the Wakefield neighborhood of north Raleigh, police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Falls of Neuse Road and Common Oaks Drive.

A 2006 Nissan pickup driven by Michelle Christi Dayton, 33, ran a stop sign and was hit by a 2001 Isuzu box truck driven by Kenneth Gacheru Ndungu, 40, of Raleigh, according to a police report. The truck then went out of control and hit a 2007 Nissan pickup from behind as the truck overturned in the median, forcing the pickup to flip as well.

Dayton was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh, where she died. Ndungu and the driver of the second pickup, Todd Patrick Utter Sr., 46, of Chapel Hill, weren't hurt in the crash.
