Woman killed in Raleigh crash after driver runs red light

A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Raleigh on Saturday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Wake County on Saturday night.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Louisburg Road (US-401) and Forestville Road in north Raleigh.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol said a car failed to stop at a red light, causing another vehicle traveling from US-401 to go down an embankment.

The woman was 72 years old. Neither driver's name will be released by authorities.

One driver was charged with failure to stop at a red light and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
