Woman killed in Johnston County wreck
A 24-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle wreck at U.S. Highway 301 and Raleigh Road, north of Benson, Thursday afternoon.

BENSON, N.C. — A 24-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle wreck at U.S. Highway 301 and Raleigh Road, north of Benson, Thursday afternoon.
A southbound vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into another vehicle at Raleigh Road shortly after 4:30 p.m., state troopers said.
A passenger in the second vehicle – Elizabeth Ann Mitchell, 24, of Selma – died. Her husband, Troy Mitchell was driving. He was listed in good condition Monday at WakeMed.
State troopers said they planned to discuss possible charges with the Johnston County District Attorney's Office.
