Woman killed in head-on collision near Dudley

A woman was killed Friday morning in a head-on collision in rural Wayne County, authorities said.

DUDLEY, N.C. — A woman was killed Friday morning in a head-on collision in rural Wayne County, authorities said.

A vehicle driven by Mayra Labra, 24, of Dudley, crossed the center line on Emmaus Church Road near Stanley Chapel Church Road at about 5:45 a.m. and collided with a vehicle driven by Michelle Brown, authorities said.

Labra was killed in the collision.

Brown was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. and their 6-year-old child were treated at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro and released.

Emmaus Church Road was closed for about three hours as the State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
