Sanford police looking for 2 men after woman killed by stray bullet

A woman died Saturday after she was struck by a stray bullet while riding in a car in Sanford.

SANFORD, N.C. — A woman died Jan. 11 after she was struck by a stray bullet while riding in a car in Sanford. Two suspects were arrested, but police are searching for two who got away.

Around 7:45 p.m., officers with the Sanford Police Department heard gunshots in the area of Chatham Street and S. Moore Street.

According to investigators, 22-year-old Diamond Preosha Richardson was riding in the passenger seat of a moving car when she was shot by a stray bullet.

The driver drove her to Central Carolina Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police officers chased four males seen running from the area where the shots were fired. Police captured Rayshawn Ahmik Donaldson, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile.

On Jan. 21, Sanford police announced they were looking for two other men, Emrique Lee, 20, and Vincente Alvarez, 18. Anyone who sees them is asked to contact the Sanford Police Department at 919-777-1051.
