<b>WENDELL, N.C.</b> — A woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after being shot in her own home.

According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the call Sunday morning at a home on Privette Road.

Deputies said a child in the home discharged a firearm through a wall in the home, resulting in the woman being shot.

The shooting appears to be accidental, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office.
