WILMINGTON, N.C. — New Hanover County authorities said Wednesday that more charges will been filed against a woman accused of hiding her dead mother's body in her Wilmington home for months.

Amy Blanche Stewart, 45, of 612 Cherry Laurel Court, faces two counts of obtaining property by false pretense, authorities said. She was arrested last month on a charge of concealing a dead body.

Deputies responded to Stewart's home on Dec. 15 after receiving a 911 call and found the body of Stewart's 88-year-old mother, Blanche Matilda Roth, in a bedroom.

Authorities estimate Roth died in May. A preliminary autopsy hasn't determined a cause of death, but authorities said there was no evidence of foul play.

The latest charges come after investigators determined Stewart deposited $8,315 from her mother's Social Security and annuity retirement benefits into her account between July and December.

No other charges are expected in the case, authorities said.
