CLAYTON, N.C. — A 32-year-old woman died in a crash Saturday night in Johnston County on Buffalo Road.

Patricia Rene Ingram was driving south on Buffalo Road when she drove off the right side of the roadway. Her car slammed into a driveway culvert and her car flipped.

The woman was ejected from the crash and was not wearing a seatbelt, officials said.

Authorities said the road she crashed on was newly paved at the time and had a low shoulder, which caused her to flip her car. The woman's boyfriend was following her in his car and witnessed the accident.

The family of the woman says she was trying to avoid a deer on the road but officials did not mention this fact in a police report.

Officials said "alcohol is suspected" to be a factor.

Next-of-kin have been notified, according to officials.
