CAMERON, N.C. — A 34-year-old woman faces identity fraud and abuse charges against two juveniles, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Lane Carter said the state Department of Social Services contacted his office about the case, which involved two children in the Cameron area.

Investigators charged Natasha Marie Brown, of 135 Rosa Road in Cameron, with two counts each of identity fraud, obtaining property by false pretenses and misdemeanor child abuse.

Carter said the abuse was physical, and the two children had minor injuries, but neither required hospital treatment.

Brown was granted a $5,000 unsecured bond, and her first court date was set for June 25.
