Woman charged in Chapel Hill hit-and-run from December

A Chatham County woman has been charged in a hit-and-run that occurred in December, according to Chapel Hill police.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A Chatham County woman has been charged in a hit-and-run that occurred in December, according to Chapel Hill police.

Tara Holste, 46, was charged with felony hit and run with serious bodily injury.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 on Homestead Road near Aquatic Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Police said the car hit and seriously injured a person riding a bike.

The person on the bike is still recovering, police said Friday.

Holste will appear in court on March 22.
