Woman charged after wreck victim dies

Rocky Mount police charged a 24-year-old woman Thursday after a 69-year-old woman died of injuries sustained in wreck in late November.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police charged a 24-year-old woman Thursday after a 69-year-old woman died of injuries sustained in wreck in late November.

Jennipher Snow Flake, of Rocky Mount, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in the Nov. 20 wreck that killed Lonnice Evans Romney.

Police said that Flake ran a red light and struck Romney's vehicle at U.S. Highway 301 and Jeffreys Road.

Romney died at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville on Nov. 27.

Flake was being held under a $10,000 unsecured bond early Friday.
