A woman was charged Wednesday with death by distribution years after a man who suffered a drug overdose was found dead in the woods.
On Sept. 28, 2020, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a Sanford home after receiving a call about a missing person. Deputies searched land and water around the home for Cory Dale Moore, 32, but were unsuccessful.

Remains were discovered months later in a heavily wooded area off Carbonton Road. The remains were later identified as belonging to Moore, and his cause of death was identified to be drug-related.
A true bill of indictment was issued for Samantha Michelle Goins, 29, of Sanford, for felony death by distribution.
Goins was taken into custody Wednesday and received a $250,000 secured bond. She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest and will face further drug possession charges.
