Mom and teenage son shot at Fayetteville hotel; boy's father involved in crash
A woman and her teenage son were shot at the Travel Lodge hotel in Fayetteville on Thursday night. The shooting was related to a crash involving the boy's father, police said.
Posted — UpdatedShortly before 10 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 200 block of Cedar Creek Road in reference to a shooting.
They found a woman who had been shot in the back of the leg and her son, who was grazed by a bullet. Both were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the boy's father was trying to get to the mother and son and was involved in a single-car crash.
Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
