RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman faces charges that she robbed and assaulted a man in a wheelchair in Wake County on New Year's Day.

An arrest warrant states that Kellia Ebony Maine, 22, of Louisburg, pulled the man from his wheelchair, threw him to the ground and stole $280.

Maine was arrested Monday on charges of felony strong-arm robbery and misdemeanor assault on a handicapped person. She was placed in the Wake County jail under a $200,000 bond.

At the time, Maine was on probation for an August conviction for driving while impaired, according to state Department of Correction records.
