CLAYTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a suspect Monday night after a woman fell off a SUV and died in Johnston County.

The call came just before 2:30 p.m. as fire trucks and sheriff's deputies converged on the scene in the 300 block of Vinson Road.

Johnston County sheriff's deputies identified the woman in the road as 18-year-old Tebria Janee Frazier of Clayton.

WRAL's Bryan Mims spoke with a woman who lives up the road. She would only give her first name, Jessica, and did not want to speak on camera.

She says she was on her front porch when she saw a white SUV speed by with a young woman on the hood, clinging to the windshield wipers. She thought at first they were teenagers pulling a stunt, but this was extreme.

She says it appeared the SUV was going at least 70 miles an hour.

The sheriff's office says 911 callers described a woman riding on top of the SUV before falling off and possibly being run over.

Investigators describe the incident as "domestic related," but had no details.
