RALEIGH, N.C. — As I reported last week, Marbles Kids Museum opened up its new Play Annex last week. The building, which Marbles purchased last year, sits right next door to the museum and, as of this week, is housing the museum's popular summer camps and other programs.
Well ... because of the new space, Marbles has been able to free up space in its existing building for more exhibits. And two have opened this week.

Hit the Trail offers opportunities for guests to “camp out." At Polar Port, they can take part in "icy and winter activities," Jessie Rumbley, the museum's director of communications, tells me.

You can find the new exhibits in rooms that once hosted camps and groups, such as Zanzibar, the large room that sits just off Curiosity Square on the first floor and across from Around Town.

I have not checked these exhibits out, but I'm excited to see what Marbles has come up with in these spaces. These will definitely change and evolve over time. Admission to these exhibits - and all of Marbles' other museum exhibits - is free with admission which is $7 per person.
