RALEIGH, N.C. — Wine can be intimidating but it doesn't have to be. The Wine and Dandy Podcast explores the lighter side of wine and makes it fun.
Part of the Capitol Broadcasting Podcast Network, Wine and Dandy launched in 2017 with hosts MIX Morning’s Sarah King and Cornerstone’s Jami Caskey.

King had extensive knowledge of wine from her days working in the restaurant industry in New York City. When she moved from NYC to Raleigh, she worked at a wine store.

"It was always funny to me that people were embarrassed, One, by their lack of knowledge and two, by the fact that they don't want to spend $30 on a Tuesday night bottle of wine," King said. "We came up with the Wine and Dandy Podcast and our tagline is 'Wine is fun and we intend to prove it' because we feel like people get really caught up in the intelligent side of wine, like the nerdy side of wine, and they feel really intimidated by it."

Caskey is a fan of wine, but didn't know as much as Caskey when the two started the show.

"I was invited because I like wine," Caskey jokes.

King and Caskey joined the WRAL Out and About Podcast this week to talk about great wine for Thanksgiving. They have great suggestions for white (a tasty Riesling) and red (a pinot noir).
