WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson woman died Monday night in a motorcycle wreck, police said Tuesday.

Mary Beth Perry, 35, of Stantonsburg Road, and a friend were riding in the 2900 block of Forest Hills Road in Wilson at about 9:25 p.m. Monday when Perry lost control of her motorcycle and hit a utility pole, police said.

The case remains under investigation, but preliminary evidence indicates that speed was a factor in the wreck, police said.
