— Residents of a Wilson’s Mills neighborhood were being advised to stay in their homes following a shooting Saturday afternoon.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at a home at 1715 Fire Department Rd. at about 3:15 p.m. in response to a shooting.

One woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, deputies said.

Residents who live within a half-mile of the home were being asked to secure themselves inside their homes until further notice.

Authorities in tactical gear were assisting in the search for a suspect Saturday evening.
