Widespread power outage darkens Fayetteville
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission confirmed the outage about 4:45 p.m. and said crews were working to restore power. The cause of the outage was not immediately known.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A power outage knocked out electricity to about 20,000 customers in eastern Fayetteville late Tuesday afternoon.
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission confirmed the outage about 4:45 p.m. and said crews were working to restore power. The cause of the outage was not immediately known.
Fayetteville police cautioned motorists to be careful, especially at intersections, where traffic lights were not functioning.
