What's up with the J. Crew Warehouse Sale at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh in September?
The twice-a-year J. Crew, Madewell and Crewcuts warehouse sale at the N.C. State Fairgrounds is a big deal to bargain shoppers. And a lot of them were gearing up for the fall version of the sale, which originally was scheduled to start Sept. 7.

And then, at some point, it disappeared from the fairgrounds' calendar. And lots of people started wondering what was up.
"Do you know if the J.Crew, Madewell warehouse sale is returning for fall?" wrote one Go Ask Mom reader. "I had read that it was coming in September, but now I can't find any information about it and I want to be prepared."
So I checked in with the fairgrounds to find out what's up with the sale, which is a dream come true for people who love J. Crew, Madewell and Crewcuts clothes and don't mind sifting through lots of boxes to find a good deal. Unfortunately, I have some bad news for deal hunters.
"J. Crew decided to scale back and not do a fall sale this year," Heather Overton, public information officer with the N.C. Department of Agriculture, which manages the fairgrounds, tells me in an email. "We expect them to return in early spring."
So, stay tuned!
And even if the J. Crew warehouse sale isn't at the fairgrounds, it will be hosting some other fun events. They include:
- the annual Greek Festival from Sept. 7 to Sept. 9,
- AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day on Sept. 8,
- a Korean Cultural Festival on Sept. 15,
- Mix 101.5's Savor the Triangle on Sept. 19,
- the Southern Ideal Home Show from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23
- and the DogGone Fast Flyball Club Flyball Tournament from Sept. 22 to Sept. 23.
