'Welcome back': Ligon Middle School creates funny video for students
Ligon Middle School Principal Gary Duvall made a funny music video to bring smiles to his students' faces.
Posted — UpdatedUntil at least Oct. 22, all students in the Wake County Public School System are attending school virtually. Teachers miss seeing their students in person -- so they made a video to welcome them back.
First, you hear the Mister Rogers "It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood" theme song as Mr. Duvall walks into his office and hangs his coat on the door. "It's going to be a wonderful day for so many reasons, because students, we're back," he says as he puts on his comfy shoes -- his Nike sneakers.
Then you hear the "Welcome Back, Kotter," theme song and Mr. Duvall breaks out into a dance -- and a rap about what school is like during COVID-19.
Several other staff members contribute their own musical talents, and others simply say "welcome back" to the students they missed over the summer.
The video ends with: "We miss all of our Little Blues! Have a great start to remote learning! We are #ALLin4LIGON #inthistogether."
