'Welcome back': Ligon Middle School creates funny video for students
RALEIGH, N.C. — Ligon Middle School Principal Gary Duvall made a funny music video to bring smiles to his students' faces.

Until at least Oct. 22, all students in the Wake County Public School System are attending school virtually. Teachers miss seeing their students in person -- so they made a video to welcome them back.

First, you hear the Mister Rogers "It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood" theme song as Mr. Duvall walks into his office and hangs his coat on the door. "It's going to be a wonderful day for so many reasons, because students, we're back," he says as he puts on his comfy shoes -- his Nike sneakers.

Then you hear the "Welcome Back, Kotter," theme song and Mr. Duvall breaks out into a dance -- and a rap about what school is like during COVID-19.

Several other staff members contribute their own musical talents, and others simply say "welcome back" to the students they missed over the summer.

The video ends with: "We miss all of our Little Blues! Have a great start to remote learning! We are #ALLin4LIGON #inthistogether."
