Wegmans is considering a second Cary location between Davis Drive and the Twin Lakes subdivision.

According to an article in the N&O, preliminary plans have been filed with the town of Cary for a new mixed-use development, including a Wegman's.

The new development would be located in west Cary near Davis Drive and the Twin Lakes subdivision. The initial plans show that it would have a number of businesses including retail, residential and office space.

A statement from Wegmans spokeswoman Jo Natale indicates, "Wegmans is considering multiple sites in the Raleigh/Durham market, but until there are firm deals for each site, we are unable to share the locations or other details. These sites are in addition to the site in Cary located at Cary Town Blvd. and I-40 announced in January."

In early 2016, Wegmans announced that it was in lease negotiations for a store across from Cary Towne Center. This will be their first North Carolina location.

The family-owned, Rochester, N.Y.-based chain has 89 stores in New York, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Founded in 1916, this family-owned company has over 46,000 employees and annual sales of 7.9 billion.
