RALEIGH, N.C. — A cold front is forecast to bring rain to parts of the Triangle on Saturday, which will be followed by noticeably cooler weather tomorrow and for the first part of the work week.

WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said make sure you carry your rain gear for much of the day because there is a 60 percent chance for precipitation.

"It's not going to rain all the time by any means, but we will have a few sprinkles and showers," he said, adding that rainfall amounts will be fairly light. "Nonetheless, it can be a little wet at times."

The high temperature is expected to top out in the low 70s before temperatures fall to the mid-40s.

The rain will diminish during the afternoon and will be supplanted by brisker, windier conditions.

"We'll be in a cooler air mass," Moss said, adding that temperatures will top out in the upper 50s although it will be sunny and bright.

The low temperature Sunday into Monday will drop to right around freezing, Moss said.
