RALEIGH, N.C. — A cold, blustery Friday could end with evening showers.

Friday morning had a chilly start, with below-freezing temperatures in the high 20s, but with wind chills making temps feel even colder.

The afternoon looks to be cool and clear, with potential for a gusty winds up to 22mph in the afternoon and a few showers around dinnertime.

What's ahead for Friday and the weekend weather?

"The window for opportunity for rain is pretty short, most likely between 4 or 5 p.m. or 7 or 8 p.m." said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

"If you have plans to be out for dinner, you may need to take along the umbrella," she said.

Once that system moves out, another shot of cold air moves into the Triangle on Saturday, bringing lows in the 20s and a high of 48 degrees.

Other than cool temperatures, Saturday and Sunday look sunny and beautiful. On Sunday, it will start to warm up again, with temperatures reaching back into the 50s.

Starting Monday, spring-like warmth returns, with temperatures reaching into the 60s and 70s.
