RALEIGH, N.C. — Weather during this holiday weekend will feel “like the unofficial start of summer,” said WRAL Meteorologist Mike Maze Friday afternoon.

After topping out in the mid-70s Friday, temperatures should begin a slow, steady climb through the weekend. By Memorial Day on Monday, clear skies and summery warmth will be widespread.

Some shattered showers are on tap for Friday night, Maze said, and Saturday will start out mostly cloudy. The system should quickly move out and be replaced by partly cloudy skies for the afternoon, however. Saturday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

The forecast for Sunday is sunny and slightly warmer. Monday warms into the 80s, and Tuesday continues the warm, sunny clear days – a signal the summer has arrived.
