This morning we are waking up to colder temperatures, but a warm up is on the horizon.

Temps are in the 20s across the Triangle this morning, and a frost advisory is in place until 9 a.m.

But some good news -- a southwest flow should warm the weather up this afternoon, and highs are expected to be in the upper 50s to 60s.

Another cold front is expected to arrive Friday night which will increase our rain chances.

No chance of rain Thursday night, and temps will be cooler.

Temperatures through Saturday will feature temperatures more normal for this time of year with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s, although there will be a chance for rain on Friday and Saturday.

WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said the best chance for rain will be Friday night with an 80% chance. Saturday morning is looking a bit gloomy, but besides that, the weekend is expected to be pleasant.

On Sunday, highs will return to the low 50s.

Our average low on Dec. 1 is 37 degrees and our average high is 58. By Dec. 31, our average low is 31 degrees and our average high is 51.

The average precipitation for December is 3.07 inches. If you're hoping for snow before Christmas, don't get too excited. The average snowfall in December is 0.6 inches. In January though, the average is 2.9 inches.
