It's a big weekend for beer, pimento cheese and BBQ lovers in the Triangle.

Food, beer and festivals

Pimento Cheese Festival (Cary Downtown Park, 319 South Academy St., Cary) - Enjoy live music, grab a drink from local breweries, and taste some of the best pimento cheese samples from local restaurants on Saturday. You can even test your skills in the pimento cheese sculpting contest.
Brookside Bodega Grand Opening (1000 Brookside Drive, Suite 119, Raleigh) - Brookside Bodega will celebrate its grand opening in Raleigh on Friday with carnival games, live music and food on its outdoor patio.
NC Hops Fest (NC State Fairgrounds: Kerr Scott Building, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) - The NC Hops Festival features NC craft beer, ciders, spirits, live music, local makers, and food trucks Saturday and Sunday. Choose from three different sampling sessions throughout the weekend.
Taste of Soul NC (BBQ Edition) (The Pavilion at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St., Durham) - Enjoy the ultimate cookout experience on Saturday with trucks featuring BBQ items like ribs, brisket, chopped BBQ, pork chops, chicken wings, vegan BBQ and more. There will also be a DJ, dessert, kids games and bounce houses.
Summer Crush 2022 (Raleigh Beer Garden , 614 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh) - This beer festival features more than three dozen breweries pouring samples of more than 75 beers, ciders, kombuchas and seltzers from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Raleigh Beer Garden.
Geek and Grub Market (Fred Fletcher Park, 820 Clay St., Raleigh) - Enjoy geeky vendors, yummy food, giant games and fun activities you won't find anywhere else in the Triangle on Sunday at Fred Fletcher Park.
Nuv Yug India Fest (NC State Fairgrounds: Jim Graham Building, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) - Discover Indian cultural arts via dance, music, crafts and fashion Saturday and Sunday at the State Fairgrounds.
Carolina Brewery Lowcountry Shrimp Boil (Carolina Brewery & Grill, 120 Lowes Drive, Suite 100, Pittsboro) - Carolina Brewery & Grill hosts a lowcountry shrimp boil Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. There will also be beer and live music.
Moore Square Market (Moore Square Park, 200 South Blount Street, Raleigh) - Pick up your local produce and treats, meet up with friends, and enjoy live music at Moore Square Market on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pride Month events

Run For Love 5K (Dorthea Dix Park Conservancy, 2105 Umstead Drive, Raleigh) - Proceeds from the Saturday 5K go to benefit Pride Raleigh and The LGBT Center of Raleigh. Enjoy an afterparty with signature skyline views of downtown Raleigh and beer at Trophy Brewing on Maywood Avenue after the race.
Apex Pride Festival (Apex Town Campus, 73 Hunter St, Apex) - Come out for a day of inclusion, music, food, games, vendors and activities on Saturday in Apex.
Pride Celebration (Fenton, 855 Cary Towne Blvd., Cary) - The Friday event offers live music, aerialist performances, face painting and fairy hair stations, kids crafts, and a booth by the LGBT Center of Raleigh.

Movies, music, comedy

Summerfest: Movie Music Classics (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - Pack your picnic, lawn chairs, and blankets and enjoy great music under the stars on Saturday.
The Doobie Brothers (Coastal Credit Union Music Park, 3801 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh) - The Doobie Brothers are in Raleigh Saturday for their 50th anniversary tour.
Special Event: Nick Mullen (Goodnight Comedy Club, 861 W Morgan St, Raleigh) - Nicholas "Nick" Mullen is an American stand-up comedian currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. See him Friday and Saturday nights.
