Festivals and fun

Winter Seafood Jubilee (Transfer Co. Food Hall, 500 East Davie Street, Raleigh) - Head to Transfer Co. Food Hall on Saturday for this grand opening event of the newest Locals Seafood fresh fish market. Locals Oyster Bar will be hosting a fish fry on the Transfer Co. Food Hall patio, with additional food and raw oysters available at the bar. Fried seafood platters are $12.

Adult Nights: Speakeasy (N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 West Jones Street, Raleigh) - Celebrate the roaring 1920s at this event Friday night. Sidecar Social Club will be performing. Tickets are $20 in advance.
This Brew is On Fire - Charity Brew-Off

This Brew is On Fire Charity Brew-Off (Tobacco Road, 505 West Jones Street, Raleigh) - Love is Bald hosts this brew-off featuring more than 20 local breweries on Saturday. All proceeds will be used to purchase cancer-fighting particulate hoods for fire stations in the state. Tickets are $40 in advance and include free beer and food tastings and a souvenir glass.

Rock of Ages (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - A love letter to the 1980s, this musical hits the stage Friday and Saturday at DPAC.

Christopher Titus (Goodnights Comedy Club, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - Best known for his autobiographical TV show "Titus," this comedian will bring his stand-up tour to Raleigh's Goodnights Comedy Club Friday and Saturday.
Dylan Scott: Nothing To Do Town Tour 2019 (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - Described as an old soul with a young spirit, this singer hits the stage at The Ritz in Raleigh on Sunday.
Karaoke: Love & Heartache (Barley Labs, 4015 University Drive, Durham) - This monthly karaoke series continues on Saturday at Barley Labs in Durham.
Mike Doughty (Motorco Musical Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - The singer-songwriter plays Motorco in Durham on Sunday with special guest Wheatus.
A Very Get Sad Y'all

A Very Get Sad Y'all Valentine's Day (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - This all-ages show is Friday night at The Ritz. Jack Barakat of All Time Low, Travis Clark of We The Kings and Forrest Kline of Hellogoodbye will perform.

World's Toughest Rodeo (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh) - Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo celebrates 40 years of bringing the Ol’ West to cities across the country this year. Enjoy bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding.

NC Book Festival (Various locations) - Featuring readings, panels, demonstrations and lectures from award winning presenters and performers, the festival will showcase both traditional and non-traditional genres. Events run Thursday through Sunday at various venues in Raleigh.

Between2Clouds Comedy Smash (Xoco Raleigh, 410 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh) - Head to Xoco Raleigh on Sunday afternoon for this event which features a Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament with Comedy Commentary and Stand Up Comedy.

Hamilton: How the Musical Remixes American History (NC Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh) - The Broadway smash "Hamilton" sparked a new interest in the titular character and the events that shaped his life. Be in the room where it happens Saturday at the N.C. Museum of Art as Richard Bell, associate professor of history at the University of Maryland, explores what the show got right, other aspects of Hamilton's life the musical did not explore.
Joe Winters Comes Home exhibit opening (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - This exhibit opens Sunday and runs through Mach in the lobby of Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. It explores Joe Winters' legacy as the force behind a long list of concerts that transcended the color line, dedicating himself to community building projects and carrying out his duties as a police officer.
