RALEIGH, N.C. — A food truck rodeo dedicated to tacos, a Cirque du Soleil performance, live music, and more -- this is a fun weekend to stay in the Triangle.

Performances and festivals

Jason Aldean (Coastal Credit Union Music Park, 3801 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh) - The country star brings his High Noon Neon Tour to Raleigh with special guests Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina Saturday night.
Cirque du Soleil 's Crystal (PNC Arena, 400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh) - This breathtaking show features unbelievable feats on and above the ice. The storyline centers on a girl who "falls through the ice" and encounters a new world. See it through Aug. 19 at PNC Arena.

Black Violin (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - These classically trained violists use hip-hop influences to create a distinctive multi-genre sound. See them Saturday night at Booth Amphitheatre.
SparkBall (The Dillon, 223 S West St, Raleigh) - This fun evening at The Dillon will include tons of SPARKcon themed events including on-demand poetry, face painting, circus performances, musical performances and dance-offs. Each activity includes a chance to financially support your favorite SPARK with a small donation.
Music in the Galleries (Ackland Art Museum, 101 South Columbia St., Chapel Hill) - Flash Chorus presents this event on Sunday at Ackland Art Museum. You will practice and perform Elvis Costello's "Alison" and The Beatles' "Hey Jude."
Al Strong's 99 Brass Band (The Bullpen, 359 Blackwell Street, Suite 135, Durham) - The six-piece group will play a free show Friday night at The Bullpen.
Summer Daze Music Festival (Midtown Park, 4011 Cardinal at North Hills St., Raleigh) - This festival includes Shwayze, Lute, Carter Cruise, Mike’s Left Arm, WONDR, DJ Nevy, and others. There will also be food trucks and vendors.
The Friday Night Tribute Series at Midtown Park featured Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute band, on Sept. 23, 2016.
Sidewalk Slam (various downtown Raleigh venues) - Enjoy this one night music festival on Friday with performances at Kings, The Pour House and Slims.
Carolina Fall Boat Show (N.C. State Fairgrounds) - More than 15 marine dealers representing over 65 manufacturers will come together for one weekend super sale.

Food and drink

Natural Selections (N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 W. Jones Street, Raleigh) - More than 20 local breweries will be at this fifth annual sampling session along with live music by The Hey Brothers, hands-on science-of-beer activities, interactive games and more at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences Friday night.

Tacopalooza (Knightdale Station, 810 First Avenue, Knightdale) - This food truck rodeo is taco-themed. There will also be a competition among the trucks to determine who made the best taco-themed dish. It all starts at noon on Sunday at Knightdale Station Park.
SW Durham Food Truck Extravaganza (Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint, 7007 Fayetteville Rd., Durham) - Enjoy this back-to-school event and rodeo with music, children's activities and more fun on Saturday. The event is also collecting non-perishable food items for Back Pack Buddies, an Inter-Faith Food Shuttle program that provides children with nutritious weekend meals.

Movies

Movies by Moonlight (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - Watch "A Wrinkle in Time" under the stars Friday night. Tickets are $5, and proceeds benefit the WakeMed Children’s hospital.
BLACKKKLANSMAN with Ron Stallworth Live Q&A (Alamo Drafthouse, 2116 New Bern Ave., Raleigh) - Ron Stallworth, whose memoir inspired the film BLACKKKLANSMAN, will be on hand Friday. Following a screening of the film, he will hold a Q&A session and book signing.
Super Troopers (Ponysaurus Brewing, 219 Hood St., Durham) - See an outdoor screening of this comedy on Sunday.
