Weekend best bets: Stranger Things, beer Olympics, Flip Flop run

Durham Bulls: Stranger Things Weekend (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham) - The Durham Bulls will host Stranger Things Weekend Saturday and Sunday at the ballpark. The Bulls will be wearing specialty jerseys themed after Starcourt Mall. On Saturday night there will be post-game fireworks. On Sunday, kids can run the bases.

The Raleigh Beer Garden Beer Olympics (Raleigh Beer Garden , 614 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Raleigh Beer Garden will host its first Beer Olympics on Sunday. Teams of four can sign up via the Raleigh Beer Garden Facebook page. It is $60 per team and includes a free beer for each person. Opening ceremonies start at 1 p.m. and events will include trivia, beer pong, cornhole, dodgeball and more.

2021 World’s Largest Flip Flop 1K (Bond Brothers, 202 E. Cedar St. Cary) - Head to Bond Brothers in Cary on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for this 1K run. Unlike previous years they will not be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for largest flip flop run due to the corralling requirements to count and start the race. This year's event is a fundraiser to sponsor children through the Wake County Holiday Cheer Program.

Jamey Johnson (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell St., Raleigh) - Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Jamey Johnson, one of today's most respected country music artists, will play Red Hat Amphitheater on Friday night.

SouthEast Crab Feast - Raleigh (Lake Wheeler Park, 6404 Lake Wheeler Rd., Raleigh) - This event features all you can eat fresh blue crabs, one side of fish and chips, music and more fun at Lake Wheeler Park on Saturday.
