Weekend best bets: NC State Fair, Halloween fun

It's the final weekend of the N.C. State Fair and that means it will be crowded!

Ride inspections underway at North Carolina State Fair
RALEIGH, N.C. — It's the final weekend of the N.C. State Fair and that means it will be crowded. Usually the final weekend of the fair has the highest attendance each year.

Festivals and markets

Oct. 13-23: North Carolina State Fair - This is the last weekend for deep-fried fair food, rides and more fun.
Oct. 21: Bull City Block Party and Vintage Market - Head to Durham Central Park for this block party and market on Foster Street. There will be more than 35 vintage clothing vendors, food trucks, beer, games, music and a lot of fun.
Oct. 22: Fall Festival at Carolina Pines Park - Come celebrate fall with at Carolina Pines Park with candy, costume contests, balloon animals, games, pumpkins and more from noon to 3 p.m. The event is free to attend.
Oct. 22: Geek and Grub Market (Halloween Edition) - This October, the Geek and Grub Market is turning Halloween upside down with a market featuring more than 60 vendors, food, trick-or-treating and three different haunted attractions - including two haunted houses, a haunted room escape and a free haunted trail for kids. This event is free but paid tickets are required for access to the Haunted House and Escape Room. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh.
Oct. 22: Raleigh's International Wine Festival - Over 25 international wine suppliers are coming to Raleigh for this event in City Plaza. The event is from noon to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks and performances throughout the day. Wine tasting punch cards are available to purchase on site or Early Bird online.
Oct. 22: Blacktoberfest - Black Brew Culture will host this celebration of beer, food, art and entertainment, featuring a hybrid experience of curated activations and traditional festival style booths at Suite Four in Durham.
Oct. 22: Bull City BOOs Fest - This event at Durham Central Park will feature music, beer, food trucks, and more than 40 local artists and vendors, kids' activities and more.

Oct. 18-23: Annie - See this Broadway-touring show at DPAC.
Oct. 20-22:Guy Torry - Guy has been seen on BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Showtime at the Apollo and Russell Simmons: Def Comedy Jam. See him on stage at Raleigh Improv on Oct. 20 to 22.
Oct. 21: The Wallflowers - See the band on stage at Carolina Theater of Durham on Oct. 21.
Oct. 23: "Weird Al" Yankovic - See "Weird Al" on stage Oct. 23 at Meymandi Concert Hall.
